AMD helping college students to create dedicated virtual reality labs  in partnership with Crytek. Crytek is a german video game company which is remembered due to its legendary series “Crysis“. The crytek is leading their VR First Initiative program to develop the ready made solution for developers, students and researchers.

AMD will feature their new  Radeon pro Dou graphic cards in the lab with Liquid SDK VR which is capable of both consuming and creating VR content. AMD will provide its LiquidVR Software Developer Kit (SDK) as part of the GPUOpen initiative.

Virtual reality has the potential to revolutionize how people experience the digital world with implications for gaming, entertainment, education, medicine, journalism and numerous other fields.

“We’re on the cusp of an immersive computing era enabled by GPUs and game engines,” said Raja Koduri, senior vice president and chief architect, Radeon Technologies Group, AMD.

AMD Duo Pro Graphics card with its 16 Teraflops of compute performance allow the VR development while at work; DirectX 12 experiences in gaming while off the work.

VR First Initiative

AMD Radeon Pro Duo is the initial product of the AMD VR Ready Creator line. The AMD Radeon Pro Duo with the LiquidVR™ SDK is also the platform of choice for Crytek’s VR First  initiative.

The AMD Radeon Pro Duo is planned for availability in early Q2 2016. But for today, AMD and Crytek have setup their first VR lab in Bahçeşehir University . It is located  in Istanbul.

Crytek is providing full source code access to CRYENGINE development software. So, the development is in full-fledge with innovative younsters.

AMD, as a Hardware partner will equip the labs with VR headsets and machines.

VR First locations will become key centers for nurturing new talent in VR development and creating a global community equipped to embrace this exciting field of technology.
